Scanning and cleanup

Storage Scanner reads local file and folder metadata, including names, paths, sizes, allocation, timestamps, and file identities. This information builds the storage maps and supports search and cleanup review on your PC. The scan engine does not open file contents and does not upload names, paths, contents, scan results, or cleanup selections.

The scan index and cleanup tray stay in memory and are discarded when the app closes. Network volumes, registered cloud-sync roots, and reparse points are excluded. The app includes no analytics or advertising.

Local settings

Appearance and animation preferences are saved locally. An unhandled application error may produce a local record of the exception type and numeric error code, without file paths or the scan index. These records are not sent to us.

This website

The marketing pages do not load advertising scripts, analytics scripts, third-party fonts, or embedded video players from other services. Images, fonts, and the product film are served with the site. The hosting provider receives normal request information, such as IP address, requested URL, and browser information, when delivering the website. A private preview host may require its own sign-in.

Purchases and licensing

Payments are not currently accepted on this website. Stripe is the planned processor for direct purchases, and Microsoft Store is the planned alternative sales channel. Payment and license data practices will be documented when those services launch. The development build does not process payments or call Store licensing.

Support you choose to contact

Email sent to contact@storage-scanner.com is handled by the email service provider and used to respond to your request. The app does not attach a scan, file list, or error report automatically. We do not use support messages for advertising or sell them.

Your control and contact

You choose what to scan and what to collect. A separate review is required before recycling. Windows manages restoration from the bin. For privacy questions or requests about a support conversation we control, email the address above. Changes to this policy will be published here with an updated date.
