Get help with scanning, storage maps, cleanup review, system requirements, and planned purchase options for Storage Scanner.

Start with a folder

Choose Scan a folder for a focused scan. Select a map region or open a folder in the ranked list, then use the breadcrumbs to return. Switch between Sunburst and Sankey or expand the graph for a wider view. Large drives may take many minutes to scan.

Collect, review, recycle

Add files to the cleanup tray with the add control or drag them from the list. Review cleanup shows the exact paths before you approve a Windows Recycle Bin operation. Remove any entry you want to keep. Collecting an item does not delete it.

Free space has not changed

Recycled files usually remain on the same drive until permanent removal. Read how the Recycle Bin affects disk space.

Partial scans and excluded files

Protected, unreadable, cloud-managed, and linked items are excluded or marked. Check the coverage summary. The app does not bypass permissions, follow network volumes, or download cloud files.

Keyboard and motion

Ctrl+F searches the scan. Alt+Up opens the parent. Ctrl+Enter collects the selection. Escape restores an expanded graph. Use Settings to change appearance or disable the cleanup toss animation. Windows reduced-motion preferences are respected.

Downloads and purchases

Direct download through this website and Microsoft Store are the planned release channels. The planned US price is $9.99 once, including all version 1 features. Stripe checkout, standalone licensing, signed downloads, and the Store listing are not live yet. See download and purchase availability.

What stays private?

Scanning reads local filesystem metadata. It does not upload file contents, paths, or the scan index. Read the privacy policy for details.
